BESTMALZ’s BestBrew Challenge is Back!
Each year, German maltsters, BESTMALZ, host their BestBrew Challenge, a competition where brewers from all around the globe can brew a beer simultaneously to go in the running for some awesome industry prizes.
This year, BESTMALZ is working with their North American distributor, Country Malt Group, to spread the word and invite North American brewers to get involved! The simultaneous brew will occur on March 25th, 2022, with brewers worldwide using similar grain bills in different countries and time zones.
The Recipe
To take part, all you need to do is brew an Altbier style beer using BEST Chocolate malt, in compliance with the German purity law.
Term and Conditions
To take part in the challenge you must register on the BestBrew Challenge website by March 24, 2022 (German time). Registration details include the name of your brewery, brew master, a description of your team and brewery along with picture and a video, if available.
Brewers who would like to enter their beer in the challenge must send the completed documentation sheet and at least three liters of their beer to BESTMALZ HQ in Heidelberg, Germany by June 1, 2022.
Prizes
The winning beer will be brewed and served at the Drinktec 2022 fair in Munich.
- 1st place: Trip to Drinktec 2022 in Munich (max. 2 persons, incl. travel & accommodation expenses) and professional beer analysis.
- 2nd place: 100 € coupon for the BESTMALZ Fanshop and professional beer analysis.
- 3rd place: 50 € coupon for the BESTMALZ Fanshop and professional beer analysis.
All participants will receive a t-shirt & professional recipe evaluation.
